Chief Operating Officer
A skilled, perceptive, personable, and dedicated individual to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Houston’s oldest and largest nonprofit agency that focuses on empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS works with elementary, middle and high school students, and more recently with college students, providing support services to individuals, their families and communities that lead students to academic and life success.
An earned Master’s degree in education, organizational development, nonprofit leadership, business, social work, mental or behavioral health or a jurisprudence degree;
At least 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the field of social work, education and/or nonprofit;
Demonstrated success in leading an organization through creative and effective funding strategies and programs;
Demonstrated success as a manager of programs and personnel;
Demonstrated success in budget oversight and financial management; and
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and written and verbal communication skills.
