Mental Health Support Specialist
Key Responsibilities include:
Individual, Group and Family Supportive Guidance - Interventions designed to help students and/or families build strengths, develop and maintain pro-social and adaptive behaviors.
Case Staffing and Consultation - Conferring with interdisciplinary team and/or other professional(s) regarding cases.
Coordination of Health and Human Service Linkages - Providing information and referrals to resources within the school or mental health resources within the community.
Case Management - Providing case management services to address the needs of students referred for a variety of mental health, emotional, developmental, behavioral and/or social problems.
Community Outreach - Collaborating with mental health and/or social service partners.
Collaboration with CIS Student Support Manager at school site to coordinate service delivery.
Conferring with CIS Student Support Manager - monthly progress reports, consultations and case staffing.
Documentation of service delivery contacts.
Maintenance of case folders for targeted students.
Mental Health License or License Eligible required
Two years of related work experience required
Valid Texas Driver License and proof of liability insurance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with multiple levels of supervision within CIS and the school
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Data Management systems
Experience working with youth preferably in a school setting
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to meet short and long term deadlines
