Why Your Support Matters

Every day, thousands of students across Houston face overwhelming roadblocks to their academic and personal success, such as hunger, homelessness, untreated medical needs, trauma, or a lack of the basics, like school supplies and clothing. Schools cannot tackle these challenges alone. Communities In Schools of Houston exists to provide direct support and bring community resources primarily into underserved schools. This allows students to focus on learning and keeps those at greatest risk of dropping out in school and on the path to graduation.

At Communities In Schools of Houston, we believe every student deserves the chance to realize their potential, regardless of background, zip code, or life circumstances. For more than 46 years, CIS has stood with schools and families as a trusted partner. Today, we remain an unwavering anchor within Houston-area schools, ensuring every student is seen, supported, and equipped to write their own story of success.
