Job Summary:

The Student Support Manager is responsible for implementing the Communities in Schools Program Model and achieving the program stated goals and objectives for the academic year. Responsible for collaboration with campus administration, the planning, implementation and daily oversight of the site program operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Student Support Managers working on a multi-staff campus provide direct supervision to the Student Support Specialist and/or Mental Health Support Specialist role, approve direct report’s timecards according to company policy and perform their Annual Performance Review.

  • Student Support Managers working on a single-staff campus do not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • The multi-staff, single-staff status of a campus is subject to change.

Responsibilities/Duties:

1.       Campus Planning

  • Provide orientation about the CIS Program for all stakeholders in campus community.

  • Conduct assessment of the current campus needs, assets, and develop Campus Support Plan.

  • Communicate regularly to build and maintain relationships within the campus community.

  • Collaborate with campus administration, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in campus community.

  • Implement Campus Support Plan – within the timelines established for service delivery throughout the academic year.

 2.       Integrated Student Supports

  • Coordinate with campus community for provision of School-Wide Events that address prevention and awareness needs of campus community and indicated campus goal.

  • Provide Walk-In Services to address basic and/or emergency needs of campus community (as permitted)

  • Provide Case Management intervention, including consent for services, formal assessment, goal setting, service planning and direct services.

  • Access and coordinate health and human service linkages for students and their families.

 3.       Documentation

  • Complete all direct services and indirect services on the appropriate documentation forms in data-entry-system Bluebonnet daily.

  • Complete case managed student folders and case management documentation in the required formats, within established timelines.

  • Complete and submit Monthly Reports within required timelines to Campus Administrator and Program Director.

  • Complete all other required interdepartmental correspondence and communication (including telephone, memorandum, and/or e-mail communication).

 4.       Data Entry

  • Complete registration of all students in data-entry-system Bluebonnet (as required)

  • Enter service data for all CIS students in the data-entry-system Bluebonnet, within 30 days of the service delivery

  • Proactively report all problems with the data-entry-system Bluebonnet.

 5.       Meetings, Training, and Professional Development

  • Attend all required CIS Cluster Meetings and Quarterly In-services.

  • Participate in Campus/District Meetings and Trainings (as needed).

  • Participate in CIS Professional Development/Skills Enhancement Workshops.

 6.       Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Valid Texas Driver License.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Experience working with children, youth and/or family systems, preferably in a school setting. Direct case management experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with multiple levels of supervision within CIS and the campus.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with specific skill sets as requested by campus assigned principal i.e. bilingual, trilingual, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external community.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree recognized as accredited by the US Secretary of Education and/or by the Council of Higher Education.

  • At minimum two years' experience in social work, psychology, education, health and human services or a closely related field.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Experience working with children, youth and/or family systems. Direct case management experience preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Decentralized site-based office.

  • Travel within the Greater Houston area is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds at times.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Pay:            Bachelor’s Degree starting at $47,440/year

                             Master’s Degree starting at $56,502/year

Additional Pay:  Applicable Bilingual Stipend $1,500/year

                            Applicable License Stipend $4,000/year

Other Pay:          Business Mileage Reimbursement
